There are other Gewurztraminers produced in Niagara and other parts of North America. (Sometimes tasting staff can misconstrue the marketing information they've been trained on.) Malivoire (near Beamsville) has one of the best Gewurz's in the area. (The Hillebrand scallops are definitely not thrifty - but from my one encounter, they are divine.)
